Seth Rogen shaved his signature beard, got a sexy haircut and is edging into Chris Pratt territory

Updated

Seth Rogen has tamed his lion's mane.

The actor, who voices Pumbaa in the upcoming remake of Disney's "The Lion King," posted an unexpected selfie on Twitter this week, captioning it simply, "I shaved."

It is an understatement: Rogen's signature unkept beard and tight curls have been cropped and coiffed into a look that would please Clooney himself.

He's also missing his usual thick-framed glasses. Seth, if you're reading, is it contacts? Lasik? Bare eyes with blurred vision? Please hold a press conference accordingly.

Fans quickly voiced their support of Rogen's fresh look, although his mom, Sandy, had a more measured reaction: "Your father doesn't think it looks like you," she tweeted in response.

Several noted that the transformation is reminiscent of that of Chris Pratt, who famously revamped his look around 2013 as he ascended to major movie star status: "I think he just pulled a Chris Pratt on us," one tweeted.

Rogen, 36, has been a bonafide movie star for years -- and we'll just say it: It's high time we classify him as a sex symbol, too. Should we christen him like they do Simba during "Circle of Life"? Perhaps we should.
