Governors Awards 2018: Awards season kicks off with star-studded red carpet!

And with that, awards season has begun.

The 2018 Governors Awards took place on Sunday night, where Honorary Oscars were handed out to some of the industry's most legendary and respected personalities: actress Cicely Tyson, publicist Marvin Levy, composer Lalo Schifrin and producers Kathleen Kennedy and Frank Marshall.

The 10th annual ceremony was instituted back in 2009 so that the presentation of Honorary Oscars didn't inflate the already-long Academy Awards, and the season's key awards players always make appearances at the show, which effectively kicks of awards season.

Lady Gaga, Nicole Kidman, Emma Stone, Rosamund Pike, Emily Blunt and Amy Adams were among the leading ladies in attendance on Sunday evening, while Armie Hammer, Michael B. Jordan, Timothee Chalamet, Chadwick Boseman and Mahershala Ali were among Hollywood's top actors who stepped out.
