Surprise! Jessica Chastain secretly welcomed a baby

Jessica Chastain is a mom! The two-time Oscar nominee secretly welcomed a baby with her husband, Gian Luca Passi de Preposulo, a source confirms to Us Weekly.

Chastain, 41, first sparked rumors when she was spotted pushing a baby stroller while walking to the set of her upcoming movie Eve in Boston on October 12. She covered the top of the carriage with a white baby blanket. Three days later, Passi de Preposulo, 35, was seen carrying a baby car seat into a hotel with Chastain and her assistant.

The couple were also spotted taking the baby to a pediatrician’s appointment in NYC in mid-November, according to the New York Post‘s Page Six. The outlet reports that the couple welcomed the baby girl, named Giulietta Passi Chastain, via surrogate.

The Zero Dark Thirty star and the fashion executive started dating in 2012. They tied the knot in June 2017 at his family’s luxurious estate, Villa Tiepolo Passi, in the Carbonera area of Treviso, Italy.

“He’s a gentleman,” Chastain told W magazine in 2015. “And that’s very important to me. He’s from an old-school Italian family. No one in his family has ever been divorced!”

The actress admitted in February that she “never wanted to get married” until she met Passi de Preposulo.

“He knew that marriage wasn’t something I was interested in,” she told WSJ. Magazine. “And then as we got to know each other, the idea of marriage shifted for me. There are some things worth celebrating — and he’s worth celebrating. … I actually love being married. I never thought I would, but this is a spectacular human being, and I am celebrating that I get to share my life with him.”

To celebrate their one-year wedding anniversary, the couple saw The Band’s Visit on Broadway and had dinner at a vegan Japanese restaurant in New York City.

“We’ve only been married a year, so we haven’t struggled to keep the magic alive,” Chastain told Us Weekly exclusively in June. “Every night is a wonderful date.”
