A week after confirming she is engaged to John Mellencamp, Meg Ryanmade a rare red carpet appearance on Monday, November 12, with her engagement ring on full display. The actress was at the Friar’s Club Entertainment Icon Award event in NYC to help honor her When Harry Met Sally co-star Billy Crystal, and her new bling proved to be the perfect accessory.
Stunning in a sheer Roland Mouret gown with floral appliqués, the blonde beauty’s jewelry game was equally on point. She rocked a glitzy cuff over the sleeve of her dress, a pair of hoop earrings and a few rings — including her diamond sparkler from Mellencamp.

While Ryan sported a flower-like diamond cocktail ring on her right hand, she took a page from Duchess Meghan’s playbook and mixed and matched a few dainty styles on her left hand. In addition to a black diamond style on her left index finger, she appears to have worn a diamond infinity band on her left ring finger below the engagement sparkler, which is the pièce de résistance of the collection.

Though the couple has dated on and off since 2011, they’ve been “on” since 2017, and, by Thursday, the 56-year-old Sleepless in Seattle star had taken to Instagram to confirm the exciting news. “ENGAGED!” is how she captioned an Instagram pic of a funny stick-figure illustration of the couple.
