Stan Lee dies at 95: Stars remember the comic book legend

Marvel Comics creator Stan Lee passed away on Monday at the age of 95, and celebrities were quick to take to social media to pay tribute to the man who has contributed so much to the world.

Ryan Reynolds, who has played Marvel character Deadpool in two feature films, was one of the first stars to honor Lee on Twitter, thanking the man for "everything."

Gene Simmons, Seth Rogan and Chris Evans were among the other celebrities who posted early tributes to Stan Lee. Also honoring the icon? Marvel rival DC Comics, which noted that "he changed the way we look at heroes, and modern comics will always bear his indelible mark. His infectious enthusiasm reminded us why we all fell in love with these stories in the first place. Excelsior, Stan."

More celebrities that honored him on social media were Jamie Lee Curtis, Kaley Cuoco, Josh Brolin and Travis Scott.
