Stars who served: Celebrities who are military veterans, from World War II to Afghanistan

Updated

On Veteran's Day, we recognize all vets across the United States of America -- and today, a surprising number of them are now Hollywood stars.

There are dozens of famous faces who served in the armed forces, especially among the oldest generation. We couldn't possibly name them all -- countless men were drafted before they would later become movie stars -- but we rounded up a few to honor.

That said, not all of Hollywood's vets served in World War II and Korea. Several, in fact, served in just the last few years, including 34-year-old Adam Driver ("Star Wars") and 48-year-old Rob Riggle ("The Daily Show," "21 Jump Street").

Thank you to all the men in the gallery below -- and all of the vets who aren't -- for their service.
