Jim Carrey fires back at Ted Cruz over ‘vampire’ election painting: ‘Sorry I rattled your chain’

Jim Carrey isn’t taking Sen. Ted Cruz’ dismissal of his latest artwork lying down.

After the actor depicted Cruz as a bloodsucking vampire in a piece of his art that he tweeted on Monday, Cruz replied, saying that “Vampires are dead, and everyone knows the dead vote Democrat.”

Carrey’s artwork was an effort to get out the vote — and specifically for citizens in Texas to vote out Cruz and vote in his democratic opponent Rep. Beto O’Rourke. “Go Beto! Go Democrats! Vote like there’s no tomorrow,” wrote the actor. “Let’s make this Tuesday like the end of every great vampire movie. Pull back the curtains and let the sunshine turn all those bloodsuckers to dust.”

After Cruz responded, Carrey shot back later Monday, telling the senator in a tweet: “Wow…sorry I rattled your chain, @TedCruz. I thought you would have more important things to do two days before an election — like sucking up to the guy who called your wife ugly and accused your dad of murder. But I get it! It’s hard to say no when Trump grabs ya by the p—y!”

Carrey’s been on a roll, tweeting out politically charged artwork for several weeks now. The “Kidding” star’s latest creation: depicting President Trump as a grotesque cyclops, his one eye glaring as his hands reach out threateningly in marvelously spooky fashion.

“Some people aren’t pretending to be monsters,” Carrey wrote in the caption accompanying the cartoon. “Happy Halloween.”
