Merry Christmas from the Legends — and NBC!
John Legend and Chrissy Teigen will team up with the broadcaster for “A Legendary Christmas with John and Chrissy,” an hour-long special that will air on Nov. 28, TheWrap has learned exclusively.
Legend will perform songs from his upcoming holiday album, “A Legendary Christmas,” which will be released on Oct. 26. The couple will be joined by friends and family, as well as other well-known personalities, who will be announced at a later date.
The special — produced by Universal Television, Done + Dusted and Friends at Work — marks the latest in a string of collaborations between Legend and NBC.
Last month, the singer won a producing Emmy for “Jesus Christ Superstar Live in Concert” — the network’s April 2018 TV musical, in which he played the titular role — an award that cemented his EGOT status. Legend also recently landed a coaching gig on “The Voice,” replacing Jennifer Hudson for the next season of NBC’s four-time Emmy-winning musical competition series.
In 2015, Legend and rapper Common won the Oscar, Golden Globe and Grammy Award for their song “Glory” from the film “Selma.” Legend has released five studio albums, won 10 Grammy Awards, and served as producer on the 2016 film “La La Land.” His other big and small screen credits include “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” “Underground” and “Soul Men.”
Meanwhile, Teigen is a bestselling cookbook author and TV host, having released her first kitchen manual, “Cravings: Recipes for All the Food You Want to Eat,” in 2016, which was followed up with a second book, released last month. She currently hosts Paramount Network’s competition show “Lip Sync Battle.”
“A Legendary Christmas with John and Chrissy” will air Nov. 28 at 10/9c on NBC.
