Knowles family reunion: Beyoncé shares a rare photo with her divorced parents

The Knowles family dynamic has changed, but the love is still there.

Beyoncé‘s parents, Tina and Mathew Knowles, finalized their divorce in 2011, but came together for the final show of her On the Run II tour with Jay-Z on Oct. 4. Mama Tina, the best corny joke teller in the biz, proudly shared a series of photos of the three of them together — as well as Bey and her dad posing solo, noting she felt “love” seeing “Daddy and daughter” together in Seattle.

Beyoncé also shared photos of her dad in a larger group of photos. The post thanked “all of our loved ones who came out to support” the tour. “We couldn’t have done this without each of you beautiful human beings.” One photo showed her holding hands with her father and Jay-Z in a pre-group prayer before taking the stage in Seattle.

The comments on all the posts were mostly of praise for the exes to reunite amicably for the sake of their daughter. “They made magic,” wrote one commenter. “You guys raised an amazing, beautiful woman,” posted another. And yet one more: “Life is too short to harbor resentments.”

Of course, the Knowleses were instrumental in making Beyoncé (and, later, her sister Solange) famous. Mathew, 67, managed Destiny’s Child and Tina, 64, made their costumes. When Bey parted with the group, her father continued to rep her solo career. However, his personal life — including an affair that led to a baby in 2009 — started to make headlines. (He also had a baby with another mistress in 2010.) Tina filed for divorce soon after, and Beyoncé later cut any professional ties amid claims he took money from her.

While they have since made amends, it’s been a bumpy road. Beyoncé and Solangé skipped their dad’s 2014 wedding, and he appears to have inspired some stinging lyrics on Lemonade.

Both Beyoncé and Solange have remained tight with Mama Tina, who is often posting photos of their kids. She remarried in 2015, to actor Richard Lawson, and her daughters and grandkids were front and center at the wedding.
