Troian Bellisario welcomes first child with husband Patrick J. Adams

Troian Bellisario is officially a mommy! The Pretty Little Liars star, who played both Spencer Hastings and Alex Drake on the show, welcomed her first child with husband, Patrick J. Adams.

“The world just got 8lbs heavier. Thank you to everyone who fought for and protected our privacy during this incredible and beautiful time in our lives,” the Suits star wrote on Instagram on Monday, October 8. “Everyone is happy and healthy and loving every moment of this. I could not be more excited to bring a baby girl into this world at this moment. We will raise her to be powerful, to always speak her mind and heart and to live without fear. It’s a brand new day and a brave new world and they are both beautiful.”

Sources confirmed to Us Weekly in early August that the couple, who wed in December 2016 with a boho woodland ceremony, were expecting.

The actresses’ former costar, Lucy Hale, gushed to Us about the happy news on August 10. “I’m really happy for her,” she said at the time.

Three months prior, the duo had another reason to celebrate as they attended the royal wedding of Adams’ former Suits costar, Duchess Meghan, to Prince Harry in London.

The Duchess of Sussex, 37, and Adams, 38, both left their shared show at the end of season 7 following their onscreen wedding, with the Clara actor revealing to The Hollywood Reporter that he was looking forward to spending more time with his family. “At the moment, I’m interested in taking a break,” he said at the time. “It’s nice to be home. It’s really nice to be with Troian, our dogs and to take the time to figure out exactly what shape I want to take my career after this.”

Bellisario, 32, and her longtime love met in 2009 while working on a play called Equivocation and subsequently sharing a romantic night they came to call “Fort Day.” “He invited me over to his apartment where he had built us a pillow fort,” Bellisario wrote on an Instagram post in December 2016. “He stapled sheets and Christmas lights to the ceiling. We shut the door to the world outside. We didn’t answer our phones. And over pancakes and movies. Long late night conversations and sleep. We got to know each other a little better. That was the first ‘Fort Day.'”

Seven years later, the twosome got engaged on “Fort Day,” which came to be an annual tradition.
