Former Miss America board member trying to oust Gretchen Carlson

A former Miss America Board member is trying to overthrow the organization’s current leadership, according to Page Six.

Former Miss North Carolina Jennifer Vaden Barth reportedly wants to remove Miss America’s top executives Gretchen Carlson and Regina hopper.

Vaden Barth, who left the board in July, even set up a GoFundMe page in order to raise funds for legal action and PR services so they can “correct the governance issues facing the Miss America Organization.”

So far the page has raised more than $22,000 dollars of it’s $100,000 goal. Page Six reports that the page lays out a number of potential points that the new leadership can embrace.

In one instance Vaden Barth calls for the board to “commit to providing participants the opportunity to showcase their talent, communication skills, style and physical fitness during competitions at every level.”

Pageant representatives told Page Six that they’ve already addressed these topics.

The outlet also reports that former FOX News host Carlson received a lot of backlash after the pageant got rid of the swimsuit competition earlier this year.

Vader Barth left in July along with a number of others, with two of the women claiming that they didn’t resign by choice.

22 state pageants reps signed a petition calling for the rest of the board to resign, while 30 former Miss Americas issued their support for Carlson.
