Debra Messing asked to choose: Donald Trump or Susan Sarandon?

When given the choice between being stuck on an elevator with one of her two apparent enemies, Debra Messing gave a somewhat surprising answer.

The "Will & Grace" star appeared on "Watch What Happens Live" with Andy Cohen on Thursday night alongside Molly Shannon, and a fan called in with a tough question for the actress.

"Who would you rather be stuck in an elevator with, Trump or Susan Sarandon?"

Messing, who was a fervent supporter of Hillary Clinton throughout the 2016 election, remains an outspoken critic of Trump and his administration. She has also been engaged in a years-long feud (mostly via Twitter) with Sarandon, which was reignited last month in an exchange that culminated with Messing telling Sarandon to "STFU."

"I think Trump," Messing said to gasps from the audience.

"Maybe you could make some policy changes," Cohen interjected. "You're a very convincing person!"

"Yes! I think that if I had a moment alone with him that maybe I could..." Messing responded before trailing off and adding that she didn't really know Trump during their shared NBC days, though she did see him at the Emmys every year.
