Monica Lewinsky wows in leather!

The 45-year-old activist stepped out on Wednesday night for Variety's New Power of New York Party at Atlantic Grill as part of the New York Film Festival. Lewinsky was one of 50 high-profile people that the party was honoring for being named on The New Power of New York List 2018. Other big names that were honored included Ronan Farrow, Awkwafina and Meghan McCain.

The author looked stunning in an off-the-shoulder red polka-dot top, black leather pants and studded Valentino pumps. She finished off the look with soft waves and natural makeup. At the party, Lewinsky was photographed mingling with Farrow -- see photos in the video above.

Ahead of the event, Lewinsky reacted to being named to the list in a gushing tweet about her fellow honorees.

"Wowza! Just went through this list and am so honored to be among such amazing friends and people," she wrote. "Thanks Alan Cumming for what you wrote about me ... and thanks Variety for including me."

In an essay for Variety's new issue, the actor -- who is a longtime friend of Lewinsky's -- penned a touching tribute that noted how they first came into contact with one another.

"I first met Monica at a party in 2000," he wrote. "It was at the height of the prurient madness that had recently enveloped her. People were clambering over from the neighboring banquette just to touch her hair. Nowadays when we go out to dinner people come over to thank her and say how moving and important her TED Talk was to them."
