Kanye West gave Kim Kardashian $1 million for turning down a sponsored fashion post for Yeezy rival

What’s $1 million between a husband and wife?

Kim Kardashian was the inaugural guest on Ashley Graham‘s Pretty Big Deal podcast Tuesday, and she discussed an interesting business decision that went down in the West household a few months ago.

“For Mother’s Day, he’s like the cutest,” Kim said. “So, a brand offered me a million [dollars] to do a post, and they … typically knock off Yeezy. So, I said, ‘You know what, it’s great money. Let me ask Kanye how he feels about it.'”

Well, Kanye West didn’t feel so great about it.

“He’s like, ‘No, babe, I really don’t want you to do that,'” Kim explained. “Understandable, but that’s a lot of money.”

The KKW Beauty mogul ultimately turned down the offer, and West showed his appreciation two weeks later on Mother’s Day, when he sent Kardashian flowers and an envelope.

“So, I open the envelope, and it’s a million-dollar check,” Kim revealed. “And there was a note, saying, ‘Thank you for always supporting me and not posting.'”

Also in the envelope was a contract for Kardashian to be part owner of West’s company Yeezy. “To have my percentage. That was my Mother’s Day present,” Kardashian said.

So did the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star actually cash the $1 million check? “I was like, ‘You better believe I’m gonna cash this,'” she remembered telling momager Kris Jenner, who wondered the same thing. Still, Kardashian said she “did feel bad” about it.

It’s been an interesting week for the Wests as the rapper has found himself at the center of controversy once again. On Monday, he attempted to clarify his headline-making remark about wanting to abolish the 13th Amendment, which ended slavery. West stated on TMZ Live that he “misspoke” and meant he actually wanted to “amend” the 13th Amendment. The rapper, who has been diagnosed as bipolar, also revealed that he’s off his medication.

Publicly, Kardashian has remained supportive of her husband, sharing a cuddly photo on Instagram yesterday; however, she’s said to be concerned behind closed doors.
