Rihanna‘s Hollywood Hills home has been burglarized for the second time in six months.
LAPD responded to a burglary call at the house she owns above the Sunset Strip on Tuesday at about 9:30 p.m., Yahoo Entertainment has confirmed with a police spokesperson. When police arrived, the home security system had been triggered, so there were alarms blaring and lights flashing.
According to police, property was stolen from the residence, but nobody was home at the time of the burglary. A rear glass door was shattered to gain entry. The singer’s “sophisticated security system” alerted authorities to the break-in. Police also confirmed that they have evidence of the suspects in the home and have identified a vehicle used during the burglary, but the investigation is ongoing.
A rep for Rihanna (real name: Robyn Fenty) has not yet responded to Yahoo’s request for comment. However, this is the second time someone broke into this particular house owned by songstress, actress, beauty, and fashion mogul. In May, the home was also burglarized and a stalker was arrested after allegedly spending 12 hours inside before being found by Rihanna’s assistant.
She bought the home, which features a movie theater and spa, for $6.8 million last year.
Generally, Rihanna hasn’t had great luck with her houses in L.A. She had major legal issues with one that had a Beverly Hills ZIP code, selling it a big loss two years later. (It was later fixed up and purchased by Chrissy Teigen and John Legend.) She went on to rent a house in Pacific Palisades, where she also had a break-in. In addition to Rihanna’s Hollywood Hills home, she also owns a $5.4 condo in L.A. in what has been called a “stalker-proof” building.
Rihanna is often on the go, and this month was a busy one. She was in New York a few weeks ago for her annual Diamond Ball charity gala and was also promoting her Fenty Beauty line at a store event in Brooklyn.
