'The Talk' considering Rosie O'Donnell as potential Julie Chen replacement: report

"The Talk" is on the search for a brand new co-host following Julie Chen’s departure amid her husband, Les Moonves', firing from the network for sexual misconduct allegations.

Rumor has it that Rosie O’Donnell might be at the top of their list. According to the Daily Mail, one source said that O’Donnell’s track record on both her own show and "The View" is one of the reasons executives are considering her.

"The View" is considered a major rival of "The Talk."

This source also said that O’Donnell was good at creating moments, which would bring in more coverage for the show, while a different source said that O’Donnell is one of the rare people that can embody Chen as a host.

“'Rosie can be a bit intense when it comes to politics, but she is incredibly good at connecting with an audience, and would be an ideal fit,” the source explained.

Other names that are reportedly being floated around include Ann Curry and Lisa Ling, and a final decision will likely be made in November.

CBS News has yet to comment.
