Emmys 2018: Issa Rae looks back at rise to stardom in new Samsung ad

"Keep making until you make it!"

That's the advice that "Insecure" creator and star Issa Rae gives in her brand new spot for Samsung's Galaxy Note9, set to air during the 2018 Emmy Awards on Monday night.

The commercial, which is part of Samsung's "Do What You Can't" campaign, was directed by award-winning music video director Lacey Duke and recounts Rae's incredible rise to stardom, from her web series "The Misadventures of Awkward Black Girl" through landing her own HBO series with "Insecure."

Rae is up for her first-ever Emmy at this year's 70th annual show, for Lead Actress in a Comedy Series.
