2018 CMA Awards nominees: Who scored noms and who got snubbed

It's time yet again for country's biggest night, and while plenty of artists snagged 2018 CMA nominations, not everyone could make the cut. The issue? While the most recognizable names in music -- Luke Bryan, Keith Urban, Miranda Lambert and the like -- all predictably racked up noms, many fan-favorite artists are curiously absent from this year's list.

Despite writing his first No. 1 song, 2017's "Five More Minutes," Scotty McCreery secured no spot in any CMA category. Meanwhile, fan-favorite star Dustin Lynch is slated for induction into the Grand Ole Opry and has 5 consecutive No. 1 songs under his belt. He's also missing -- what gives?

Also certainly worth noting: No women are nominated for "Entertainer of the Year" category, the biggest award of the night. No women were nominated last year, either -- and, overall, a female hasn't won that award since Taylor Swift did in 2011. (She is, of course, arguably no longer a country artist.)

That all being said, there's no doubt this year's crop of nominees is strong. The ceremony, hosted for the eleventh consecutive year by Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley, will air Nov. 14 at 8pm on ABC.
