One thing Danny DeVito won’t do on ‘It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia’

Danny DeVito’s character Frank Reynolds on “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” has pulled some outrageous stunts over the years — but there’s one thing the actor won’t be doing any time soon.

“Well, they actually, they asked me to get ripped this year and I said ‘f— off,'” DeVito joked during the FXX comedy’s panel Friday at the Television Critics Association’s summer 2018 press tour when asked if he ever said no to something the writers wanted him to do. “So uh, there have been very few things that I’ve said no to.”

Co-star and writer/executive producer on the show Charlie Day added, “Yeah, but you’ve been an incredible sport.”

DeVito added that he’s pretty game to do just about anything.

“I’ve been thrown out of windows; I come out of couches naked,” he said. In the first episode of Season 13 — the reporters at the Beverly Hilton were treated to a table read from the cast — features Frank dealing with a very swollen face, for example.

“I puff myself up… that makeup was like really, amazing to do, a lot of fun,” he said of the experience. “I bled all over everything.”

“We’re still gonna do another season of the show, and there will probably be other things [I’m asked to do],” he continued, joking: “If anyone thinks of anything they want to see me do… yeah. Write to them. You know, if it’s outrageous enough they’ll put it in the show.”

“It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” Season 13 returns to FXX on September 5.
