Kim Kardashian under fire for being happy about being called 'anorexic'

Updated

When her sister, Khloe Kardashian, called her "anorexic" because she looks "really skinny" on Sunday, Kim Kardashian could not have been happier -- and Twitter isn't having it.

The KKW Beauty founder attended the City of Hope charity poker event in Los Angeles on Sunday night with Khloe, Kendall Jenner and Kris Jenner, and she extensively documented the family outing on her Instagram Story. While hanging out with her sisters backstage, Kim basked in their reactions to her slender physique.

"I'm really concerned, like, I don't think you're eating," Kendall told Kim in one video. "Like, you look so skinny!"

An overjoyed Kim screamed, "Oh, my God! Thank you!" from behind the camera.

"I've never seen a human being look as good," Khloe agreed. "It's like, 'What's FaceTune?' You are a walking FaceTune doll! [...] I've never seen a skinnier person in my life. Well, Kendall, but that's natural. It takes work [for you] to look like that. It's amazing."

In additional videos that Kim shared on social media, Kendall compares her to her trendy tiny purse, while Khloe and pal Malika Haqq joke that all she's been eating is celery and "different flavors of oxygen" to get down to her current weight of 119 pounds.

"I can see through you!" Khloe added. "She's anorexic here. Her arms are pin-thin. They're like my pinky."

Though the endless compliments about her shrinking frame left Kim elated, her social media followers weren't as happy with the interaction.

"Kim Kardashian being obsessed with her sisters telling her she’s so skinny she looks anorexic on her Instagram story makes me want to throw my phone into outer space," the band Best Coast tweeted.

"Can we talk instead about how, while wearing this outfit, she was happy to be praised by her sisters for looking skinny and 'anorexic'?" someone else tweeted. "It's so harmful for young women to hear that message."

"Kim Kardashian being obsessed with her sisters telling her she’s skinny and that she looks anorexic on her Instagram story makes me sad," another person added. "It's so harmful for young women to hear that message, they are supposed to be role model, not encouraging themselves to lose weight."
