Rose McGowan lashes out at President Bill Clinton: 'You left a stain on society'

Updated

Rose McGowan lashed out at President Bill Clinton on Monday, criticizing him for his recent statements about Monica Lewinsky.

Clinton said on "Today" that he hasn't spoken to Lewinsky since the scandal that rocked his presidency and never personally apologized, saying he doesn't believe her owes her that: "I have never talked to her," he said. "But I did say publicly on more than one occasion that I was sorry. That's very different. The apology was public."

In response, McGowan unleashed a brief Twitter tirade against Clinton, saying he owes an apology not just to Lewinsky, but to all of America.

"Bill Clinton. Here is the truth of it: a human life was altered & destroyed due to your selfishness. Because. You. Could.," McGowan wrote. "You not only wiped your semen on a young girl’s dress, you left a stain on society. You actually owe EVERYONE an apology, especially her."

Clinton also said he did the "right thing" amid the fallout two decades ago. "I defended the Constitution," he said.

Lewinsky has not specifically addressed Clinton's statements, but she did re-share a Vanity Fair profile from earlier this year in which she discussed her side of the story.
