Caitlyn Jenner not attending son Brody Jenner's wedding 'because of a lucrative business opportunity': Report

Updated

Caitlyn Jenner isn't going to her son, Brody Jenner's, wedding this weekend in Bali -- and he isn't happy.

Brody is scheduled to get married to blogger Kaitlynn Carter later this week at Nihi Sumba on Sumba Island in Bali and, while his mother Linda Thompson is already there for the pre-wedding festivities, dad Caitlyn is reportedly not going because of a "lucrative business opportunity," TMZ reports.

Caitlyn's rep told Page Six that she has "previously scheduled work commitments." The 68-year-old reality star is reportedly scheduled to appear at the 25th annual Life Ball in Vienna, Austria, this coming Saturday. The gala benefits global AIDS relief projects.

In addition to having a prior commitment, TMZ reports that Caitlyn's decision to skip her son's wedding is "the result of a profound family divide" stemming from her marriage to ex Kris Jenner -- and Brody is "extremely upset" by it.

Sources close to Brody and his siblings Brandon, Burt and Cassandra told the outlet that Caitlyn's kids with Linda Thompson felt as though Kris was "selfish" throughout their marriage and Caitlyn was "an enabler" who allowed her to put a wall between them and their father. Despite Brody having "the hardest time of the four kids in forgiving Caitlyn," he still wanted his father present on his big day.

Though Caitlyn is choosing business over family, sources say that she was at Kaitlynn's bridal shower and doesn't object to her son's wedding -- she just won't be there. But she's not the only one. Kendall and Kylie Jenner, Brody's half-sisters, were reportedly invited to the nuptials but "didn't even bother to RSVP," which didn't surprise or offend Brody, who isn't terribly close with the sisters.

Caitlyn recently opened up to Broadly about her strained relationship with her six children, calling it "tough" to remain close to them when everyone is going about their respective busy lives.

"I spend a lot of time by myself here in the house," she said. "I have a lot of children, but sometimes just because of circumstances, maintaining a close relationship with your kids is very tough. They all have lives. They’ve all moved on."
