Savannah Guthrie has a message for the people asking if she’s pregnant

Savannah Guthrie has issued a public service announcement: Never, ever ask a woman if she’s pregnant.

The Today cohost, 46, shut down pregnancy speculation after she read a tweet about her appearance on the show’s Tuesday, May 22, broadcast.

“It’s just the dress. Excuse me while I go burn it,” replied the mom of daughter Vale, 3, and 17-month-old son Charley.

The journalist also shared an illustration on Instagram showing the progression of pregnancy. The graphic read: “When is it OK to ask a woman if she is pregnant?” Answer: It’s not cool even when she appears to be nine months along. She captioned the post, “Excuse me while I spend the rest of the day on the elliptical.”

Guthrie’s message resonated with Today contributor and fellow mom Jenna Bush Hager. “Did someone ask you. Please tell me NOOO. Dance aerobics at 3pm.”

Model Christy Turlington wrote, “Left or hook or upper cut?”

It’s not the first time Guthrie has set trolls straight on social media. Back in December 2014, she faced the wrath of the parenting police when she posted a picture of a hat-less Vale at the pool on a sunny day. “Oh my goodness. Of course Vale has a hat but more to the point, that was the one very short moment she was even allowed in the sun,” wrote Guthrie in response to the criticism. “Trust me, I’ve had skin cancer twice. I’m not about to let her sit int he sun unprotected. But anyway — happy holidays!”
