The name of Indian actress Deepika Padukone may not be well-known here in the United States, but everyone at Cannes was talking about her Friday night as she hit the red carpet in a seriously magnificent magenta gown. The architectural wonder was a total stunner from each and every angle.

But after her big moment, it was Kendall Jenner who really became the talk of the town. Daring to go as near-nude as a human can without actually being naked, a super-sheer, glittering fabric was all that protected Ms. Jenner's body from the Cannes breeze.
