2018 CMT Music Award nominations: Justin Timberlake breaks ground with surprise nod

This year's CMT Music Awards is set to be a star-studded event.

On Tuesday, CMT announced that Little Big Town will host the show this year -- their first time ever hosting an awards show -- which premieres on Wednesday, June 6 at 8 p.m. ET/PT. CMT also announced this year’s nominations, featuring the most eclectic list to date and spanning the worlds of pop, hip-hop, Americana and R&B.

Justin Timberlake is among the surprise nominees this year, earning a nod for Video of the Year for his Chris Stapleton collaboration, "Say Something." Ludacris is also up for Video of the Year, thanks to his part in Carrie Underwood's hit, "The Champion."
