'Morning Joe' contributor Donny Deutsch gets into reported physical altercation at NYC restaurant

Updated

"Morning Joe" contributor Donny Deutsch reportedly got into a physical altercation at upscale New York City restaurant The Polo Bar on Tuesday night.

According to Page Six, Deutsch bought a round of drinks for a table of four women and, when another man went up to the ladies' table and started to be "rude," the MSNBC personality stepped in.

"He was being a jerk to these women," an eyewitness said of the unknown man. "Donny came up to him and said, 'I think it's time for you to move on,' and he got in Donny's face."

And that's when things suddenly got physical in front of fellow diners Ralph Lauren and Chris O'Donnell.

"Let's take this outside!" Deutsch reportedly threatened as he grabbed the man's throat. In an effort to avoid a full-out brawl, fellow restaurant goers stepped in to break it up before the other man was kicked out of the restaurant. The women then thanked Deutsch for intervening in the situation.

Earlier this year, Deutsch made headlines after being spotted on a "first or second date" with Marla Maples, the ex-wife of President Donald Trump.

Though it's unclear if the pair is still seeing one another, the MSNBC contributor had previously referred to Trump as "physically disgusting," "racist" and "pathetic." Page Six added that Deutsch also once challenged the president to a fight.
