Ellen DeGeneres apologizes to Jenna Dewan after introducing her as Tatum: Watch

Ellen DeGeneres seemed truly embarrassed after making a blunder on the Wednesday episode of her show. After interviewing Jennifer Lopez, the talk show host introduced the rest of the World of Dance stars including Jenna Dewan.

When calling out the names, she accidentally called the Step Up star Jenna Dewan Tatum, which was the name she went by prior to her split from husband Channing Tatum. Clearly upset by the blunder, DeGeneres later apologized to Dewan, as Lopez reached over to hold her co-star’s hand.

“I have to say, before we go to break, I’m so sorry,” the 60-year-old host said. “I introduced you and it was such a habit, and I have to say the way that you and Channing are handling everything is beautiful for your daughter and the statements have been great. I apologize. I just have known both of you for so long, and I’m so used to saying…”

Dewan, 37, smiled graciously and noted, “Honestly, thank you and everybody for all the love and support. It’s truly, so amazing. It’s all love!”

Despite going public with their split last month, Dewan remains focused on keeping a normal environment for the couple’s 4-year-old daughter Everly. On The Ellen Show, she opened up about Everly joining her for her World of Dance rehearsal.

“Derek [Hough] and I were rehearsing and she wanted to be the judge. We gave her a piece of paper, and we did our performances and she was like, ‘Umm, six.’ You got a six but I got an eight!” Dewan joked to Hough. “She was a tough judge!”

“She was! She was pretty strict,” Hough agreed. “I was like, excuse me!”

Dewan also opened up to ET on Tuesday about her life following the split news, saying, “I’m good, I’m really good. I so appreciate the love and everything.”
