Police looking into Kanye West threat after Snoop Dogg's cousin urges Crips to 'f***' him up over Trump tweets

Kanye West stepped out in Los Angeles on Monday and had an entourage that was hard to miss. The rapper was flanked by three big security guards as he headed to dinner, which may or may not be related to a gang threat recently brought against him.

On Sunday, Daz Dillinger posted an Instagram video calling for the Crips to pay West a visit. “Yo, national alert, all the Crips out there, y’all f*** Kanye up. You see that motherf*****, f*** his ass up on GP,” Dillinger said in a since-deleted post. (GP means “general principle.”)

Dillinger’s message was because of West’s support of Donald Trump.

“We are in one boat, and they’re killing all of us. He jumps over there and says, ‘Master, I’m [on] your side. … I’m with you, Master Trump. Burn all these n******,’” Dillinger said.

The 44-year-old hip-hop producer issued a stern warning to West. “Better not ever see you around California. Stay in Calabasas, you hear me? ’Cause we got a Crip alert for Kanye. … All the Crips out there, you see that n*****, bang on his ass, f*** his ass up,” he declared. “F*** Kanye West up.”

Dillinger is a member of rap duo Tha Dogg Pound and also happens to be Snoop Dogg’s cousin. Both Dillinger and Snoop have long been rumored to have ties to the Crips. While Dillinger deleted his initial video, he isn’t backing down from what he said.

It’s unclear how seriously West, 40, is taking the threat. Both he and Kim Kardashian significantly increased security following the reality star’s 2016 robbery, so the rapper’s beefed-up team may be his new norm. Still, it’s something the Wests are “obviously aware of,” a source close to the family tells Yahoo Entertainment.

It’s also something that is on the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department’s radar. A spokesperson tells Yahoo Entertainment the threat is being looked into and that authorities have not made contact yet with West, but hope to soon. It will be investigated, as they would rather err on “the side of caution,” according to the spokesperson.

West’s Make America Great Again tweets elicited reactions from many of his friends and peers, like John Legend and Chance the Rapper. Even the president himself weighed in. Snoop has not.
