Chip Gaines says he's a fan of Joanna's pregnancy weight gain: 'It's kind of my jam'

Chip Gaines is loving wife Joanna's pregnancy bod.

The Fixer Upper stars appeared on the Today show on Tuesday to promote Joanna's new cookbook, Magnolia Table: A Collection of Recipes for Gathering, when Chip got candid about his thoughts on Joanna's recent Instagram post about being 40 and pregnant while adorably eating doughnuts.

“Prior to my relationship with Joanna, I always dated slightly bigger boned girls …just to be real, so whenever Jo’s pregnant, it’s kind of my thing," Chip said with a smile. "It’s kind of my jam.”

Chip said he and his sons -- 13-year-old Drake and 8-year-old Duke -- are definitely excited about the couple expecting a baby boy. The couple are also parents to two daughters, 12-year-old Ella and 8-year-old Emmie Kay.

"Me and the boys were team boy, and the girls obviously team girl, and so we've got two girls and two boys, and of course Jo and I, so this is really upsetting the balance of power," Chip said. "The boys might be able to outvote them from now until kingdom come."

"They're [ages] 13 to 8, so there's going to be quite the gap but I'm going to have a lot of little helpers," Joanna added. "So, I'm excited."

Joanna said her fifth pregnancy is going well. “I feel good," she shared. "This was a good time to do a cookbook because I just love the idea of eating, cooking. This was a perfect time for it.”
