Shawn Mendes & Odell Beckham Jr. diss each other in epic 'Drop the Mic' promo: Watch

While Shawn Mendes is a recognized hitmaker when it comes to sweet pop serenades, he hilariously ventured outside of his familiar genre for this Sunday's (Apr. 22) forthcoming episode of Drop the Mic. As seen in a promotional clip, the "In My Blood" singer took a whack at his rapping skills in a battle against New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. for TBS' comic celebrity face-off show.

Beckham takes a bold move comparing Mendes to Justin Bieber -- "Why the hell does Canada keep sending us these little boys?" -- and suggesting the 19-year-old is just a younger copy of John Mayer.

"A dancing athlete, that's a little unusual," Mendes fires back at Beckham, who's known to bust a move on and off the field. "That's the first time I've seen that since High School Musical."

Although the promo clip is just a minute long, it's filled with enough disses to make the audience, as well as hosts Method Man and Hailey Baldwin, burst in laughter.
