Justin Bieber punches man assaulting a woman at Coachella

Justin Bieber took a break from admiring the Walmart Yodeling Boy to play hero at Coachella.

Bieber, 24, reportedly punched a man in the face at a party Saturday as a means of helping a woman escape the aggressive man's choking grip.

According to TMZ, the "Sorry" singer was in attendance at a party when a man who appeared to be on drugs entered and "went ballistic" after spotting a woman believed to be an ex-girlfriend.

The man reportedly approached the woman, grabbed her by the throat and refused to let go despite demands from Bieber and a pal.

It was then that the singer socked him in the face in a successful attempt to free the woman.

TMZ reports the man was kicked out of the party and arrested later as he hit an SUV while screaming Bieber's name.

The Palm Beach Police Department was unable to confirm any arrests, and Bieber's rep did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

The Grammy-winning singer has been in town attending the Coachella Music Festival alongside a horde of fellow A-listers. He was spotted enjoying Yodeling Boy Mason Ramsey's set at the festival on Friday and posed for pictures with the preteen afterward.
