Will Ferrell was rushed to the hospital Thursday night after he was involved in a serious 2-car accident in Orange County, TMZ reports.

Ferrell was one of several people riding in an SUV around 11 PM that flipped over after being side-swiped by another car, according to witnesses. A chauffeur was driving the vehicle, and three people in total were transported to a nearby hospital. An unidentified woman with Ferrell in the SUV was "bleeding profusely."

The comedian, 50, was photographed looking alert and talking on a cell phone while being loaded by stretcher into an ambulance. He was in the car on the way back from a "Funny or Die" event near San Diego when the incident occurred on the I-5 freeway.
