Kelly Ripa body-shamed over bikini pictures as husband Mark Consuelos defends her

Kelly Ripa has a body that anyone would be envious of, but a few internet trolls disagree.

Ripa's Husband, actor Mark Consuelos, recently posted a photo of his wife on Instagram that showed her in a bikini while on vacation.

"Sultry Sundays with the sexy one are my fave," he captioned the shot of his wife, 47.

Several people left nice comments but a few of the social media sites users began body-shaming the talk show host.

Fox News reports that one Instagrammer said, "Kelly's gorgeous, but isn't there a cutoff age where age appropriateness comes into play? Just because you can rock a bikini, doesn't mean you should."

The site noted that another user shamed her physique as "nothing to be proud of," while other commenters said that the photo indicated that fame had "gone to her head" and that she was "not the sweet Kelly she was when she first started with Regis."

People notes that Kelly doesn’t mind the naysayers, as she has responded to haters in the past.

"I love a clapback," she has said, adding that she loves to "troll a troll."

In response to the negative reaction to his photo, Consuelos stepped in and wrote a response defending her in the comments.

"I wanted to take a couple of days to weigh in," he wrote. "Probably should've earlier arguably. But I wanted to be above it. Well, now I'm not. I posted this pic of the women I most admire. As a playful tribute to my wife who I'm proud of in endless ways. She works extremely hard in her professional life and her commitment to exercise, healthy diet is admirable and the benefits show."

"Yes she's wearing a bikini at age 47 and will no doubt wear one for many years to come," he continued. "If that offends you in some way, if it triggers you, or some other psychosis you're suffering from, I suggest you get over it and get used to it."

"To all the males that had something negative to say," Consuelos went on. "I suggest you bring it up with me if ever I'm lucky enough to run into you. I'm going to get back to my vacation now. Thanks for allowing me to express myself."

"I love you @kellyripa," he finished. "Keep killing it."

Ripa has yet to react to the latest string of negative social media comments.
