Christina Aguilera is unrecognizable in new photos: See her transformation for PAPER magazine

With Christina Aguilera, you never know quite what to expect.

Xtina stripped down, draped herself in wax and scrubbed off her makeup in a series of snaps for PAPER magazine, and in some of the photos, she's nearly unrecognizable.

A few of the images are more jarring than others: In one, Aguilera appears to lick own reflection in a mirror; in another, her nude body is clothed only by some sort of sheer gelatin substance. But one shot, in which Aguilera's bare face shows off her rarely-seen freckles, is perhaps the most eye-catching of the bunch.

Another jarring photo shows Aguilera's face dripping in clear and colored wax. Definitely a statement, although we're not quite sure what it's saying!

The photos come a month since her last revealing snaps -- she shared a series of black-and-white photos of herself in a bathtub.

She's certainly not the only star to go nude on social media this year, as you can see in the gallery below.
