Antonio Banderas is taking his new role very seriously.
The 57-year-old actor stepped out for the Madrid photocall for his new series, Genius: Picasso, on Wednesday, showing off his clean shaven head -- and eyebrows. Banderas sported a much different look than fans are used to as he morphs into character to play Pablo Picasso in Genius' second season.
The 10-part season, following the critically acclaimed first season starring Geoffrey Rush as Albert Einstein, premieres April 24 on National Geographic.
"Greetings from The Westin Palace, Madrid. Today we present Genius: Picasso to the press," Banderas captioned photos from the event on Instagram. "#genius #picasso #nationalgeographic @natgeochannel @natgeo #antoniobanderas."
Banderas, who appeared to be in high spirits at Wednesday's event, experienced a health scare last year, after suffering a heart attack. In a statement to press at the time, he said it wasn't "serious and hasn't caused any damage."
"It hasn't been as dramatic as some have written," added the actor, who underwent a procedure to place three stents in his arteries.
