The Roots bomb threat: Austin police arrest Trevor Weldon Ingram, 26, on terroristic threat charges

Updated

Austin police have arrested Trevor Weldon Ingram, 26, in connection with a bomb threat that led to the cancellation of a scheduled SXSW performance by The Roots.

Ingram was charged with making terroristic threats and has been taken into custody, Austin city officials said.

The threat was received Saturday afternoon, and while authorities did not find anything suspicious at the site, sponsor Bud Light called off the show as a precaution.

After news broke, Roots drummer Questlove wrote on Twitter, "No one is Mr. ‘show must go on’ than me. But we can’t risk our lives if we are told there was a bomb threat."

Austin has been rattled in recent weeks by a series of package bomb explosions. Two people were killed and two more wounded in the still-unsolved cases.

The Roots have a long-running spot as Jimmy Fallon's house band on "Tonight Show."
