Justin Bieber promotes religious message as he supports Patrick Schwarzenegger at 'Midnight Sun' premiere

Justin Bieber made a surprise appearance Thursday night -- but it wasn't just his presence that had people talking.

The singer showed up at the LA premiere of pal Patrick Schwarzenegger's new movie, "Midnight Sun," where he posed for photos with an all-male friend crew.

The guys were in good spirits, but the back of Bieber's black sweatshirt was emblazoned with a stern religious message.

The shaggy-haired blonde is famously very involved in his church and has spoken openly about his Christian faith. His message Thursday was clear: "FEAR OF GOD," his sweatshirt read.

Schwarzenegger was more than happy to have Bieber's support on his big night, telling ET, "I'm just really blessed to call him a friend, he's a really great guy."

Also showing her love was mom Maria Shriver, who looked lovely as ever in a fitted leopard-print number. 24-year-old Patrick is one of her four children with ex-husband Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Schwarzenegger's co-star, Bella Thorne, turned heads herself at the premiere in a sheer crystal-encrusted corset top. The former Disney star is known for making wild fashion statements -- and she also made some headlines for opting not to shave under her arms before hitting the red carpet. To each their own!
