Sufjan Stevens' whispery Oscars performance & wild outfit result in hilarious memes

Sufjan Stevens graced the Oscars stage last night (March 4) to perform his emotionally charged hit “Mystery Of Love” from Call Me By Your Name, which was nominated for best original song. While he was accompanied by St. Vincent and others, his outfit was the one that stole the spotlight -- at least when it came to reactions on social media.

Wearing a candy-striped blazer, all eyes were on Stevens as he softly sang the heart-wrenching track. Of course, many found the outfit to be hilarious, perhaps because he is the only person on Earth who could pull it off.

Naturally, many memes followed the performance, thanks to both the outfit and the elusive Stevens -- who is known for being rather shy and staying away from the spotlight -- appearing on stage at the ceremony.
