Adam Rippon finally met his celebrity crush Shawn Mendes at the 2018 Oscars
Adam Rippon has spent the last month winning over the hearts of America. But his heart had already been won by pop singer Shawn Mendes.
He explained on The Ellen DeGeneres Show that while he’s had previous crushes on the likes of Jake Gyllenhall and Harry Styles, the openly gay figure skater was now fixated on Mendes. “I was sleeping on Shawn Mendes. I didn’t realize how cute he was,” he said.
So when Rippon arrived at the 2018 Academy Awards clad in his best studded harness, he was determined to meet Mendes, leather or not Ellen was willing to help him.
The skater got his wish -- in a post from his Instagram Story, he was seen posing with the singer at an Oscars afterparty. “BRUH” is all Rippon wrote in the caption to let us know how he felt about meeting his crush.
