Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards disses Taylor Swift
Taylor Swift may be one of the top artists working in music today, but according to Keith Richards, it could all be gone tomorrow.
The Rolling Stones’ guitarist explained in a new interview that pop is a transitory style of music and most young stars have careers that span decades.
“Good luck girl — wish her well while it lasts,” he told the Wall Street Journal.
Richards added that he’s seen ’em come and he’s seen ’em go and, as an aside, he said pop music’s not his thing, anyway.
“I’ve just been around too long to be picking the bones out of kids,” he said. “It wouldn’t be fair of me and I’ve always been an opinionated bastard anyway. And I never did really like pop music ― even when I became pop music, I was listening to the blues and jazz and not interested in the hits.”
This isn’t the first time Richards has taken a dig at Swift. Several years ago he told GQ, “Taylor is a pretty girl… (but she’s just a) flavor of the month.”
