Oscars reportedly brings back Warren Beatty, Faye Dunaway

Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway will be back to announce Best Picture at the Oscars Sunday night after last year’s disaster, according to TMZ.

The return will be a redemption story for the two, who majorly flubbed the announcement in 2017 when they declared “La La Land” the big winner of the night, rather than the correct “Moonlight.”

“I want to tell you what happened. I opened the envelope. It said Emma Stone, ‘La La Land.’ That's why I took such a long look at Faye and at you. I wasn't trying to be funny," Beatty said on stage as the confusion cleared. “This is ‘Moonlight,’ the best picture."

PricewaterhouseCoopers, the accounting firm who has been in charge of the Oscars tabulation for 83 years, took the blame for the mishap.

Jimmy Kimmel hosts the event again, which begins at 8 p.m. on Sunday.

The nominees for best picture are “Call Me by Your Name,” “Darkest Hour,” “Dunkirk,” “Get Out,” “Lady Bird,” “Phantom Thread,” “The Post,” “The Shape of Water” and “Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri.”
