Heather Locklear arrest: Richie Sambora and daughter Ava jet to Hawaii days after incident

Days after witnessing Heather Locklear be apprehended and arrested, her daughter, Ava Sambora, is reportedly trying to clear her head.

Ava headed to Hawaii on Wednesday with dad Richie Sambora, who was married to Heather for more than a decade before they split in 2006. The trip was already on their agenda but "couldn't have come soon enough," an insider told TMZ.

"Quick trip to paradise," Ava, 20, captioned a photo at a Hawaii resort.

College student Ava was present when Heather and her boyfriend became engaged in a physical dispute Sunday night. When police arrived, she became combative as they arrested her on a felony domestic violence charge.

Ava reportedly spends more time with Richie than her mother, and he's concerned about the impact Heather's arrest -- and longtime troubles -- could have on their daughter.

Richie himself has struggled with substance abuse as well, completing several stints in rehab over the years. He has admitted to alcoholism and addiction to painkillers. When he was arrested for drunk driving in 2008, a then ten-year-old Ava was also in the car.
