Barbra Streisand's dogs are genetic clones of her deceased one

Okay, you love your dog. But do you love your dog?

Barbra Streisand has taken her love to a level most of us can't fathom -- the iconic star commissioned genetic clones of her late pup Samantha.

Samantha, a Coton du Tulear, died at 14 last year. But before she passed, Streisand had cells extracted from her mouth and stomach, she told Variety.

"They have different personalities," Streisand said of Miss Violet and Miss Scarlett. "I'm waiting for them to get older so I can see if they have [Samantha's] brown eyes and seriousness."

Her third dog, Miss Fanny, is a distant cousin of the late Samantha.

Around Thanksgiving last year, Barbra reflected on the loss of Samantha after her death. "Missing my girl Samantha," she captioned an Instagram of the sweet dog. "Look at those eyes... the depth in them."
