Food Network star Giada De Laurentiis gushes about her producer boyfriend

Giada De Laurentiis has found love again!

The Food Network star has been quietly dating producer Shane Farley for two-and-a-half years, and the doting couple opened up about their private romance to People this week.

De Laurentiis and Farley met after he was hired to produce a failed talk show starring De Laurentiis and pal Bobby Flay in 2013, but even though the show didn't work out, a romance between them eventually did.

Nearly two years after De Laurentiis, 47, split from fashion designer Todd Thompson in 2014, she and Farley reconnected.

"After I got divorced, I spent about a year and a half alone, not dating, just figuring things out," Giada said. "I had been with Jade’s dad for 25 years. I didn’t know what it meant to not be married. Once I got settled, [Shane and I] reconnected and I felt like a kid again."

Since they started dating, the couple has been spending a lot of time with her daughter, Jade, 9, and love to have low-key fun together.

"Shane’s a lot of fun," De Laurentiis gushed. "He’s very spontaneous and loves to laugh. It’s one of my favorite things about our relationship."

Farley was equally as effusive about his relationship with the Food Network personality.

"Giada is one of the most positive people I have ever met," Farley said. "She’s warm and absolutely beautiful -- what you see on the outside is there on the inside as well."

As for her relationship with Thompson, De Laurentiis insists that part of the reason why she's successfully able to juggle being a single mother, working full-time and dating is her cordial relationship with her ex.

"Getting along with my ex-husband really helps as well," she explained. "We’re supportive of each other and, in turn, supportive of Jade."
