In the new PBS series "Queen Elizabeth's Secret Agents," which premiered last month and will be released on DVD Tuesday, February 13, the world gets an in-depth look at the men who protected Queen Elizabeth I.

In power for over 40 years from 1558 to 1603, the monarch ruled at a time when Britain was divided and her life was considered to be potentially at risk, which led father-son duo William and Robert Cecil to develop a secret "network of spies, double-agents and codebreakers" to protect her.
