Judd Apatow fires back at Diane Keaton for Woody Allen defense

Judd Apatow has fired back at Diane Keaton for her full-throated defense of Woody Allen.

Apatow was responding to Keaton's Monday tweet reaffirming her belief in Allen's innocence against sexual abuse allegations made against him by his adopted daughter Dylan Farrow when she was a child.

The producer-director took Keaton's advice and watched the 1992 60 Minutes interview she had tweeted, but his response was withering. "I see a man who wanted what he wanted and didn’t care that he was having an affair with a 19-year-old when he was 54 who was also his daughter’s sister," Apatow wrote.

He added: "He also took nude photos of this child who he had known since she was nine and left them out for his family to see. Narcissism."

Keaton's comments came as a slew of actors has sought to distance themselves from Allen. Timothee Chalamet, Rebecca Hall, Colin Firth, Greta Gerwig and Mira Sorvino and many others have said they apologize for or regret working with Allen and will not do so again in the future.

Apatow has been vociferous in his condemnation of sexual harassers and abusers in Hollywood, and have been particularly pointed in his attacks on Harvey Weinstein and Bill Cosby as well as their public defenders and enablers.
