What was Ed Sheeran doing when he won two Grammys?

Was he on a castle on the hill? Ed Sheeran skipped out on the 2018 Grammy Awards on Sunday, January 28, but he still won big. The British singer, 26, took home trophies in the Pop Solo Performance category for "Shape of You" and for Best Pop Vocal Album, later revealing what he was doing instead of giving two acceptance speeches in NYC.

"Woke up to the news I won two grammys last night. Thank you!" Sheeran captioned an Instagram pic of his cat sprawled out on the ground. "This little fluff-ball is doing a bit of a celebratory dance, lots of love to everyone xx."

Sheeran beat out Kelly Clarkson ("Love So Soft"), Kesha ("Praying"), Lady Gaga ("Million Reasons") and Pink ("What About Us") for best Pop Solo Performance. For Pop Vocal Album, he went up against Coldplay, Lana Del Ray, Imagine Dragons, Kesha and Lady Gaga.

Some audience members weren't thrilled about the outcome on Sunday night. When Sheeran's name was announced, some people were heard booing inside Madison Square Garden.

Sheeran has found himself lucky in his personal life, too. As previously reported, he proposed to his longtime girlfriend, Cherry Seaborn, over the holidays.

"Got myself a fiancé just before new year," the star wrote on social media on January 23. "We are very happy and in love, and our cats are chuffed as well xx."
