Kristen Bell keeps things positive in upbeat SAG Awards monologue

Updated

It's been a tumultuous few months in Hollywood, but Kristen Bell kept things refreshingly light in her opening monologue at the 2018 SAG Awards.

Instead of a lengthy mono, Kristen erred toward staying brief, offering just a few jokes and choice lines as the show kicked off.

Speaking to the countless aspiring actors watching at home, Kristen offered some encouragement, urging them to keep their dreams alive: "Everyone's story deserves to be told, especially now," she said, adding, "Fear and anger never win the race."

It was a stark contrast from the more politically-charged themes we've come to expect from comic monologues. Instead, it was all about empowerment and strength -- a positive message for everyone!

For the actors, the SAGs are all about celebrating the best performances of the year -- but for us at home, it's also all about the fashion! Take a look at all the red carpet looks of the night:
