Prince William rocks scrubs and medical cap to watch doctor perform 2 robotic surgeries
Prince William just got an up-close look at two robotic surgeries!
The Duke of Cambridge paid a visit to the Royal Marsden Hospital in London on Wednesday, where he watched Professor Vinidh Paleri and his medical team perform a minimally invasive procedure on a patient battling adenoid cystic carcinoma, a rare form of cancer. The second surgery was for a patient who had a tumor on their esophagus.
"Performing head and neck surgery with the da Vinci robot reduces what would be a 12-hour open surgery operation into a two hour operation," Vinidh explained in an article posted on the hospital's website. "Patients can be home in three days rather than two weeks, and they are saved from having visible scars."

Switching out of his dark blue scrubs and into a more formal outfit, the 35-year-old royal, who is president of The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust, also was given the opportunity to chat and mingle with patients and staff at the hospital.
