Meryl Streep talks Mariah Carey’s Golden Globes gaff: 'B--ch stole my seat!'
The Queen of Hollywood vs. the Elusive Chanteuse! Meryl Streep and Mariah Carey had an awkward run-in at the 2018 Golden Globes on Sunday.
The Post star, 68, shared the story on Monday night’s episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live!
“Bitch stole my seat!” Streep joked of the pop diva.
Naturally, Streep handled the situation like a pro, explaining, “I came over and there she was, you know, next to [Steven] Spielberg sucking up. She said, ‘Oh my god, they made me sit down because we were moving.’ They say, ‘5,4,3,2,1’ wherever you are, everybody has to drop to their [seat]. I said, ‘No, no, no, stay there. I’ll sit on your lap.’”
Sadly, no photos were snapped of the moment, but Carey did explain to her fans on Twitter.

Cut to next commercial break, guess who comes back to her seat…” she wrote, adding, “(Me) Dear Meryl, please forgive me!!! (MERYL STREEP) You can take my seat any time!”
Streep also opened up about the historic evening, quipping, “Oprah launched her presidential campaign, I think.”

When Kimmel asked if Streep thought Oprah Winfrey really would run for president, she replied, “I don’t know. I think we’ve had some television people run.”
Making another joke about President Donald Trump, Streep noted that she hadn’t heard he requested to screen her new film The Post.
“No, but I’m sure I will hear about it,” she joked of Trump, who has previously slammed Streep’s acting skills.
